| Okay, I owe a big thanks to Elliott for tipping me off to a 2GR on ebay, and I was the only bidder and got it for a "song." And April is correct, I want a white one, but I decided to put the money into the swap and then decide which ONE I'm keeping, the Mk II V6 or the Spyder V6. If it is the Spyder, then I'll just re-paint it. So I've got an 05 blue spyder and an 08 2GR with 21k on it. Now comes the hard part, I've got to find an E153 with lsd and find a way to make it fit the spyder. I still have many parts to locate and buy and then tackle the actual swap. My plan is to collect ALL the components I need before I start the swap. Since I'm living on my pension, I have to be a careful and frugal shopper. Also, I've got to be extra nice to Elliott because his experience will be invaluable as this moves along. So don't rile him up! When completed, assuming I can get a reasonably free exhaust system on it, I'll have less than 8.5 pounds per rwhp...and y'all know what that means! I'll add carbotech brake pads, still deciding what suspension, and still looking for the right wheels (light, strong, staggered, and hopefully...white!) I can see it is going to be a money pit, but it will be my last performance car, so what the hell! I just hope I can get it done before I forget why I'm doing it!!! As nice as I hope it turns out, it still won't be as pretty as James'! (no offense, Tonia) |
