I didn't like the driod when I played with it it feels like any other cell phone. I fell in love with Iphone 4 when I played with it. The build quality is awesome it feels like a really high-end device. The display is unbelievable. I will have mine in Friday I'm excited! coming from a Palm Pre plus its a big jump. LOL

I have an iPhone 3g and the problem I had was with every update it got slower and slower. I've missed calls cause the processor couldn't keep up. A few days ago I had it lock up for about 5 minutes cause I was checking the weather and got an email at the same time... things that should NOT happen. Another thing is that you have to use iTunes, which I just don't care for. I want to be able to drag and drop files, use it for a USB drive, etc. There's just limitations because of Apple's software. Jailbreaking will fix some of these issues, but being able to do that with an out-of-the-box system is nice.

I've played with the cheaper droids and didn't care so much for them, but the motorola droid, incredible, and droid X were a big notch above those.

Ah I'm not in to all that jail breaking stuff. IPhone 4 is much faster than a 3G there is no comparison. It has a 1 gz processor now and 512 ram. I use a Mac computer so using iTunes is no big deal for me. Yeah I know about those phone we switched to verizon last month jesse got the incredible, I played with the droid but it's to clunky. The droid x has that weird hump on the back. I don't like the ipad sized phones lol. I guess it's what you want to do with the phone. For me the iPhone does what I want it to do. I like the app store, and I like the ease of the ui that I'm already used to with my iPad and iPod touch. The droid is to complicated for me, but you guys know I'm not a big computer person anyway. (remember the autocross DVD) lol anyways I get my iPhone today I'm ready!

I love it. The only problem with it is that it makes my 2 month old Ipad's screen look dated. Even my Imac that is 1080 resolution still isn't as fine as this phone. Its very quick I had like 10 apps open at the same time and you couldn't tell. The camera is very good as is the HD video recording. The imovie editing app is nice. overall its a great phone! Jesse's iphone4 comes in Monday so we can play with the facetime. That will be nice then he will leave my phone alone!

On the droids they call it rooting.

jailbreaking an iPhone isn't too hard until recently. Apple did really crack down on the loopholes people were using for it. Heck, the Droid X has a system that won't boot unless it's Motorola's bootloader... it took a good hacker 6 days to get that done. it was kind of cool that the android board donated enough to buy the hacker a $500+ phone so he could hack it...

For the iPhone, I'd recommend limera1n when it comes out. Blackra1n was the best hack till IOS4 and that same guy (GeoHot) is working on this hack.

Forget them all and get the Blackberry 9800 Slider when it hits next month. Full touchscreen with full keyboard and a webkit browser that blows away android and iphone.

I had nothing but trouble from my blackberry. When its operating correctly its good but when you have an app to simulate a battery pull because you have to do it so often you know you have issues.

nice. I've been playing with the iPhone4 vs. the Droid X which I finally got!

So far I've found an app for anything I wanted to do. I got a PTT app, the nav system works great, an app to create ringtones from any song on the phone, and an app to create bars that can include 10 apps (like a folder but you can see within it)

For Android people you must get:
MyBackup Pro - backs up apps and data to the sim card
Launch-X Free (widget) to create bars with apps in them
Ringtone - creates free ringtones
TiKL Touch to talk App (PTT)
Where's my Droid - GPS location and helps find droid (turns up volume and rings for a set amount in time)
Advanced task killer (lets you kill background tasks)

Here are some that I use regularly.

Quadrant Standard Edition – Benchmark test.
Linpack – Benchmark test
EStrongs – File Explorer
Executive Assistant – Very customizable App that will allow you to create a custom unlock screen
Easy Scorecard Pro – A great App for keep your golf score
Wine – Good app for trackig your wine cellar
The weather channel – awesome weather app
Barcode scanner – self explanatory
LED light – an app that lets you use the camera dual leds as a flashlight (even though froyo has this as a ntive widget, I like the look of the LED light widget for this program better, it looks like the BT, WiFi, 4G widgets
Shazam – identifies and saves music
Sound Manager – Lets you setup custom sound schedules, i.e. vibrate during work, silent at night
Gigbox – the best app for tracking concerts, checks every three days and sends you notifications of concerts near you for the bands you have selected (one of my favorites)
Battery Indicator Pro – shows a percentage of battery remaining
Package Tracking – Lets you easily track and save package tracking info for multiple carriers
Flight Track – Really nice travel app, tracks flights and sends updates regarding status, even has current altitude, speed, etc.
Open Table – Restaurant reservations
